About a dozen volunteers from the club members participated to provide communications and race marshal services to ensure the smooth completion of the fundraising run.
Despite a little rain early in the morning, the turn out of participants was terrific and appeared to be significantly larger than last year. We had learned a few tips from our prior involvement with the run, including how to manage the timing of road closures and driver requests for access to the waterfront across the race route. The event ran smoothly and the organizer of the event expressed his appreciation for the club's help.
This was all in support of a good cause, raising money to research treatments for breast cancer. Look for a call for volunteers for next year's run!
